The Bradley Boulder Inn
We loved the great room, which is where this inn settles the question. Craftsman woodwork,...
The Elizabeth Hotel takes its name from Auntie Elizabeth Stone, one of Fort Collins's original settlers, and builds its entire identity around the city's own history and culture rather than a generic Colorado mountain aesthetic. The 164 room property, part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, was designed as a community gathering place as much as a place to sleep, with public spaces that read as local landmarks in their own right rather than hotel amenities borrowed from a corporate playbook.
We selected The Elizabeth for how far the local theme actually extends. A Music Lending Library in the lobby offers guests real instruments, vinyl records, and turntables to borrow during their stay, a detail that goes well beyond the usual boutique hotel gesture toward local character. Themed suites, including one built around music memorabilia, one dedicated to Colorado State University with dark green decor and historic photos, and a Bikes and Beers suite with its own keg tap and bike rack, show a level of specificity that a chain hotel rarely attempts, let alone commits to.
Fort Collins sits at the base of the Rockies north of Denver, home to Colorado State University and a well established brewery scene that The Elizabeth leans into rather than competes with. The hotel's downtown position puts guests within walking distance of Old Town Fort Collins, and the property's own music and brewery themed spaces give visitors a reason to stay close rather than treat the hotel purely as a base for day trips into the mountains.

Dining and drinking are split across three distinct spaces rather than a single hotel restaurant. Emporium Kitchen & Wine Market serves a locally sourced menu alongside a choose your own wine concept and an attached retail shop, Magic Rat brings in live local musicians for a bar and patio built around Fort Collins's own music scene, and the rooftop Sunset Lounge closes the day with nightly live jazz, crafted cocktails, and sprawling views of the Rockies. Each one gives a different reason to stay on property rather than head elsewhere in town.
The signature suites extend the hotel's local identity into the rooms themselves. The Music Suite includes a master piano and memorabilia shelves, the Rams Suite leans into Colorado State University fandom with dark green decor and historic photos, and the Bikes and Beers Suite comes with a beer fridge, a keg tap, a beer pong table, a bike rack, and its own fire pit terrace. None of the three reads as a theme applied after the fact, each is built as a complete, specific idea.
The Elizabeth was conceived from the start as a community space, and the Magic Rat venue in particular functions as a working music room for Fort Collins locals, not just hotel guests passing through for a night. That dual identity, part hotel and part neighborhood institution, is uncommon even within the Autograph Collection, and it gives a stay here a social texture that a more conventional boutique property usually lacks.
